The French Harp is a very
small instrument which is held to the mouth
and blown through reeds across the entire length.
This instrument was
very popular with the boys, and some girls, during
the depression years
in the Ozarks since it could be purchased for only
ten cents. The boys
carried them in their overalls pocket and were never
without them. It was
later improved and is now known as the harmonica,
which can be changed
from one key to another.
